We would never want to compete with your granny’s yams, but we have put together a list of some of our favorite recipes and some great new ideas for a very Happy (and tasty) Thanksgiving!

Let’s get started with the main event, TURKEY!

Victor of Accountable Siding prefers to cook his turkey in his Traegar

For best outcome, Victor recommends brining the turkey for 12 hour with the following:

  • Boiling water

  • Brown sugar

  • Garlic

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Vinegar

He then sets the Traegar to 275 and puts in the turkey for between 4-6 hours.

Here are some more recipes straight from Traegar’s website:

Mulled wine or the German Glühwein is a cozy wine drink that pairs perfectly with the holiday season. It’s regularly seen in parts of Europe at Christmas Markets and is a personal favorite for the holidays with its aromatic preperties pulling you into the warm hug that is mulled wine.

Mulled wine can be made on the stove top or in a crock pot.

Here’s What You Need:

  • A 750mL bottle of a dry wine (Merlot, Malbec, or Cabernet)

  • Brandy

  • Mulling Spices or 20 whole cloves, 2 cinamon sticks, and 3 star anise

  • Honey

  • Orange Slices

  • Large saucepan or crockpot

  1. Combine all ingredients except brandy in saucepan and stir.

  2. Heat saucepan until it’s near a simmer. Make sure it doesn’t reach a boil or the alcohol will boil out. Turn stovetop to low and cover for fifteen minutes or longer.

  3. Stir in some brandy and cover to continue heating.

  4. Strain out all the spices that were added in so just the liquid remains.

  5. Add additional honey to taste if necessary and garnish with a cinimon stick and orange slices.

Sausage Balls are an easy snack for either an appetizer or a small breakfast as you watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! The best part is how easy they are to make.

What You Will Need:

  • 1 lb Pork Sausage

  • 3.5 Cups of Bisquick

  • 1lb Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

  • Milk

  1. Mix the ingredients together

  2. Form into balls

  3. Freeze balls to help maintain shape

  4. Bake on cookie sheet at 350 for 20 minutes (at the 10 miinute mark flip the balls on the opposite side)

And just like that you have sausage balls! You can take the numbers of balls out that you would like to prepare at that time and leave the rest for whatever portion size you desire and a quick snack later.
