Get The Look

There is an abundance of different looks you can choose for the exterior of your home. It can almost be overwhelming having to decide what you want your property’s exterior to look like. Your home’s exterior can make a statement

There are several awesome resources you can use to start envisioning what your exterior could look like when finished.

Siding:

James Hardie offers an Exterior House Color Visualizer on their website. This James Hardie tool is very useful as it allows you to begin by selecting which color of siding you would like to explore. You can also go back with ease to change any options out. Once you have selected a color of siding that is available in your area, you can select what style your home is to better understand what the appearance of the siding will be on your home. The reason these sorts of resources will ask your zip code at the start of the process is to verify which options are available in the region you live in. James Hardie has different lines of fiber cement siding offered in different regions to best fit the local climate and weather factors. Once you have selected the exterior style of your home, it is time to select an accent color to view. You are able to choose from either curated palettes or create a customized palette with specified color for the trim and accents. Once you have chosen the colors and style that work best for your home you are able to share or save to your My Idea Center on the James Hardie website. It is also a good idea to note the color names that you liked best, so that you can easily identify in the future.

If you are still in the exploratory stages of imagining your property’s potential, the James Hardie House Siding Ideas Gallery is a great place to start. The James Hardie House Siding Ideas Gallery enables you to view different color siding and trim on real homes of various styles. The categories tab lets you select any specifics, including what region you are looking at and a range of other options like before and after, mountain retreat, coastal, and more. This tab helps you see homes that have a specific feel or location that you are inspired by. If you click the image to enlarge it, you have the option to share it to Pinterest if you have a Pinterest Board for your remodeling project.

Owens Corning Build Your Roof™ lets you build your Total Protection Roofing System® from the top down. This Owens Corning website feature is informational because it goes through the different layers to better understand how the roofing system works for you by protecting your home. There are 40 different options for color to match just the look you are after. You start out by selecting your shingle type and color, then your ice and water barrier. Next you choose your synthetic underlayment, stater shingles, hip and ridge shingles, and ventilation preferences. Lastly, a summary of your roof specifications is provided.
